Der Münchner Tierpark Hellabrunn wurde im Jahr 1911 als erster Geo-Zoo der Welt gegründet. Die Tiere leben hier in großzügigen Naturanlagen entsprechend ihrer geographischen Herkunft und bei einem Besuch tritt man eine Weltreise durch die verschiedenen Erdteile an.

Der TerraZoo in Rheinberg ist kein normaler Zoo, sondern beherbergt ausschliesslich Reptilien, Amphibien und Schildkröten. In wunderschön gestalteten Terrarien und Freigehegen können die natürlichen Verhaltensweisen der Tiere beobachtet werden. Der Zoo veranstaltet ausserdem regelmäßig Führungen und Schulungen rund um das Thema Reptilien
